Four pair of friends, four phases of friendship, four generations of women. The film portraits their enduring friendship and three other pairs of close girlfriends each in a different phase of life. Their stories differ and yet the stories are similar. The difficulties of life can be overcome when you have someone very special as your friend. Someone who knows you well. Someone who really cares. Someone you just can't do without.
