Synopsis:
Anita Kemirembe is a lively 10-year-old girl living in a small village on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. Her large family, whose one room house has no electricity or running water, is poor but her parents are committed to Anita's future and her education. She attends a boarding school some distance from her village and sits in classes with 70 or 80 other children, committed to learn as best they can. The film introduces young viewers to life as it is for a 10-year-old in the developing world with the inherent problems of hunger, clean water, and poverty. The film is nevertheless a celebration of childhood and underlines the common hopes and dreams of children everywhere.
