Synopsis:
Reminiscences of five former child soldiers who were warriors in the bush. As children they were abducted from their schools, villages, and families. They returned home as adults after many years of nightmares—if they were lucky and survived the combats, hiding, raiding, and endless walking. At home they were discriminated against and stigmatized in the community. They required rehabilitation and had to start their life from the beginning. During their time as child soldiers, most of the girls were forced to marry LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) rebels. Lots of them were raped by the guerrillas and became parents. They were taught to fight and kill in the bushes of Uganda, DR Congo, and Sudan. They were forced to loot and create havoc, being made to suffer and believe in the mad ideas of Joseph Kony, the head of LRA. Their childhood dreams were brutally stolen.
