Synopsis:
This documentary, "Stolen Children, Stolen Lives" interviews 5 named children, aged between 9 and 15, who describe their arrests, detention, abuse, and imprisonment by the Israeli security forces in Hebron, in the West Bank, in February 2010. It has film footage and photos of the arrests of the children. It outlines the impact on the 4 Palestinian children, e.g. bed wetting, nightmares, screaming in their sleep, wanting to end their lives, and not remembering anything at all about the 10 days in prison. It also has footage of a YMCA social worker describing the effects on children. There is footage of 2 ex-Israeli soldiers, one of whom describes the fact that they arrested children and did not even want information from them—“catching a kid was a prize.” The soldier who has the predominant role in the film describes what “we” did and the impact his military experience had on him. He states that he would like to say that he is “sorry” to the children and that he was a “coward.”
