Synopsis:
Carnations are the most exported among cut-flower varieties, making up to 60% of Turkey’s cut-flower production. Red, white, yellow, pink - the variety of carnations expresses a broken heart for some, while breaking the hearts of others - such as the immigrant labourers working in the greenhouses at Kumköy-Çiçekli in the Antalya’s Aksu district. 'Carnation' attempts to give a voice to these immigrant laborers working in the flower industry and the injustices and misery they suffer. It strives to witness their oblivion, desperation and deprivation.
