Synopsis:
The Moors were brought to Mexico by Spanish conquistadors and helped to evangelize the Indians. The Morisma de Bracho, which commemorates the anniversary of the beheading of John the Baptist, has been celebrated for over 150 years during the last week of August and currently involves more than 8,000 people (but the number steadily increases each year). It represents the Battle of Lepanto (1571) and the Symposium of the peers of France.
