Synopsis:
"A Desire To Preserve" follows the theme of peace. This may perhaps be a cliche, but what really differentiates this documentary is its child-centered focus. The child looks at the world of violence, hatred, killings, warfare and naked aggression, and is appalled beyond all limits. A father's achievements in making new destructive weapons are treated with an icy disdain from the child. The child's thoughts articulate the total incomprehensibility of the logic of warfare. The narrow walls of separation of the adult world are beyond understanding. The child's message is that we must have a desire to preserve the world, requesting that adults give to the next generation a whole world - not one torn apart by bullets and bombs.
