Synopsis:
This is the story of an old man who, since the 1950s was fascinated by the statue of Zadkine in Rotterdam. A monument that was made for the city to remember the bombardement of World War II, which had destroyed the heart of the city. The old man came back to the sculpture each year to photograph this monument. The result was a beautiful book full of photographs of the years in which the city was rebuilt after the war. The statue was moved around to different areas, but always represented the heart of the city. In his photographs, we see a city grow around a statue and how everything changes through the years.
