Synopsis:
"Drinking the Wine but Being Clueless: The Plague of Insufficiency" is a dharma talk by Roshi Joan Halifax. “There’s something wonderful about getting lost,” Roshi begins. “If you’re not lost, you think you know where you’re going.” In the course of this heartfelt talk, Roshi discusses the importance of gratitude as well as appreciating the truth of suffering in life. Using classical Zen stories, she explores the virtue of poverty, of approaching life “on one hand grateful, and on another… mindful.” “If you have gratitude then you’re never not wealthy,” she says. This talk was recorded at Upaya Zen Center, in Santa Fe, NM, on May 16, 2007.
