Synopsis:
Without the Tibetan exile communities, the essence of Tibet's unique culture and ancient Buddhist heritage could be lost. This award-winning documentary is an intimate portrayal one of the first Tibetan refugee communities created in India. After escaping from Tibet, the renowned spiritual teacher the 8th Khamtrul Rinpoche devoted himself to establishing a traditional Tibetan community to preserve Tibet's endangered culture, sacred arts, and Buddhist religion. Khamtrul Rinpoche named this community Tashi Jong, (Auspicious Valley). From the everyday activities of lay people and monks to elaborate monastic rituals and sacred lama dancing, this inspiring film reveals how the indomitable spirit of the Tibetan people remains unbroken after decades of hardship, and how with faith and determination they have preserved and promoted their ancient heritage as a living reality in exile.
