Synopsis:
Rebecca Schaper and Kyle Tekiela's feature documentary A Sister's Call explores how and why a loved one can disappear into a twenty year abyss of homelessness. In 1977, Call Richmond went missing. Twenty years later, he shows up on his sister Rebecca's doorstep after suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. Filmed over fourteen years, A Sister's Call captures Rebecca's brave journey of "bringing her brother back." While celebrating his healing, the family is finally forced to reconcile the dark traumas and painful memories of their past. Call becomes the unlikely catalyst in this raw depiction of personal and familial recovery. The purpose of this film is to give others hope thru love and forgiveness through difficult diversities and challenges in life.
