Synopsis:
‘Sooraj’ is a short documentary film of about 20 minutes, in Hindi, with English subtitles. This is a touching story of a teenaged boy named Sooraj, who lost both his hands due to electric shock when he was just four. The only bread-earner in the family, his father, also passed away. Sooraj, with great struggle, learned to write, play games, washing, bathing, eating, cooking, driving with his feet. His mother struggled for his education, treatment and damages from government. The film also brings to the fore the handicaps of our legal, administrative and social systems. The first part of the film is about the accident; the second shows the wonders Sooraj can do without hands; and the third part is about the struggle to get justice from the rotten legal system.
