Synopsis:
« Translating » is the last episode of a trilogy, following « D’une langue à l’autre » and « Langue sacrée, langue parlée ». It is a cinematic Tower of Babel where translators from various countries, each expressing himself in their own language, speak about their experience of boatmen of the Hebraic literature written through centuries: Midrash, medieval Hebraic poetry written through centuries, the modern and contemporary literature. The translators speak with passion about their experience with a language that sometimes forces them to break the rules of their own. For Edouard Glissant, "Every translation today accompanies the network of all the possible translations, from any language to any language".
