Synopsis:
In July ’95, almost 8,000 Muslim men and boys were killed in the Srebrenica area, while thousands of women and children were forced to leave the so-called UN safe area, during an unprecedented period of ethnic cleansing in Europe. How do those people that survived the genocide continue to live in Srebrenica today? An actress performs the story of the siege and the massacre, while the survivors act out their daily lives. The documentary Souvenir Srebrenica is a multi-layered path through the memory of the Bosnian holocaust: a collage of theatre monologue, life stories collected on the ground and archive images from the last European genocide.
