Synopsis:
Yeter Akin and Seren Dalkiran, two Dutch girls with Turkish-Kurd origin, have shot footage on honour killings in the South-East of Turkey in 2004 and 2005. They aren’t professional filmmakers, but they have made an educational film from this material. With the movie they try to open up a discussion in public high schools on honour killings and honour-related violence and harmful traditions. Documentary filmmaker Frans Bromet follows them in this process and tries to find out what moves them? Why are they involving themselves in this subject, what does honour mean for themselves and are they themselves subjected to these unwritten laws? Furthermore, Bromet investigates in what way honour killings are an issue in the Netherlands and what youngsters think about the subject, and he interviews an honour killer.
