Synopsis:
Between the years 2008 and 2010, the project “Improvement of Food Sovereignty in the Andean zone of Ancash” was implemented in 20 communities in the districts of Carhuaz and Pamparomás, located in the Black Mountain Range. More than 300 families installed bio gardens and were trained in healthy nutritional practices with the objectives of achieving self-sufficiency in nutritional needs and reducing child malnutrition, which characterized many of the children. The mothers of the families, principal actors in this process of change, share some lessons about this experience.
