Focus Years: 2013 | Country: Zimbabwe
Synopsis:
Water and Urbanization is a story about the common person on the streets. It's a story that is meant to bring an awareness of how we as humans are putting pressure on water as a resource as we strive to adapt and live in the 21st century. Although using one city Bulawayo as an example of how Africa and the world is urbanizing, this story is universal as water is a universal commodity rapidly getting ever more scarce. The story also aims to allow you, the viewer, to reflect and adopt various practices our continent needs to adopt to safeguard water as a necessary resource vital for the development of these cities and therefore foster close and coordinated cooperation in the management, protection and utilization of Shared Watercourses, and to advance the Southern African Development Community (S.A.D.C) agenda of regional integration and poverty alleviation. Ultimately we hope this film will help bring in perceptions in Southern African Development Community (S.A.D.C) where water will be seen as a source of peace rather than conflict.
