Synopsis:
"Living and Working in the Forest" is a short documentary profiling a truly sustainable forest and a value added business. Al Hopwood has been harvesting timber on his 140 hectare woodlot since 1995. A recent inventory of his stand showed that he has more volume now than he did in 1995. Some of his wood goes to a local company that manufactures custom flooring out of wood that in industrial forestry is considered garbage and burnt in the slash piles.
