Synopsis:
This film documents the importance of traditional foods to the native village of Savoonga, Alaska. Along with their food, their subsistence culture is drawn from the land. As they hunt seals, gather berries and sea peaches, and fish for halibut, they continue their culture and connect to their ancestors through these activities and by eating these foods. This film also documents the challenges climate change is having on this culture and exposes how melting sea ice and changing seasons affect their traditional food gathering activities.
