Synopsis:
In the year 2050, there will be 9 billion people in the world. How do we make sure every mouth is fed? This series takes us around the world to examine the future of food. In this episode, Future Food is in Lima, Peru, which is undergoing a revolution in gastronomy where top chefs are rediscovering traditional foods. The guru of this revolution, Gaston Acurio, is one of the world’s top dozen chefs. For him, future food also means future justice where food becomes a social weapon to ensure that farmers can earn a decent living. But can traditional crops and farming methods feed the world? Is the future of sustainable food really found in the past?
