Focus Years: 2014 | Country: Germany
Synopsis:
The prize-winning director and cameraman Gerardo Milsztein went along to watch CuveWaters' German-Namibian research team in action. The movie takes viewers directly into the north Namibian Cuvelai-Etosha Basin – into a region dominated by extreme weather conditions. There are seasonal droughts and floods which often last for months. For the last six years, the trans-disciplinary research project CuveWaters, led by ISOE and collaborating closely with the local population, has been developing new water technologies that allow year-round access to water.
In WaterChanges, Gerardo Milsztein shows how the research team does its scientific work and how the local population familiarizes itself with the new technologies, services the various plants and uses the available water for different things.
