Synopsis:
ROOTS IN THE HEART is musician Jimmy Trash’s journey through Southern and Eastern Europe to learn, experience and make sense of ancient European customs of healing, blessing and seeing that have been passed from generation to generation through an oral tradition without being formalized. Personally experiencing the rituals of aged „Granny Whisperers“, Roma fortune tellers, Tarantella exorcisms and much more, Jimmy attempts to emotionally feel his way through these processes and feel their cultural and spiritual weight. He seeks modern views of the acts from the younger generation who must carry the burden of this knowledge from their ancestors, and also the interpretations of the musicians who accompany the magical rites and act as gateways to the heavens.
