Synopsis:
A powerful steam train in Pakistan, crossing the boarder area to Afghanistan, set back into another century, where people still seem to be living like some thousand years ago. Only a single train’s passenger has his origins in the West. A windsurfer and film-maker, who is on the way into a hidden valley far back in the Pakistan mountains to visit his close friend Nazir Sabir, a well-known mountaineer who climbed five 8,000-meter high peaks in his life. His most famous climb on top of K2 in 1981. The reason for this trip is to find the highest lakes on Earth for wind and kite surfing in Pakistan, India, Nepal and Tibet. Thomas Miklautsch, extreme windsurfer and adventure film-maker gets inspired by Nazir to travel across the inner valleys of the Karakoram Range into Ladakh, into the Himalayas and eventually he wants to discover the great plains of Tibet. Two month after visiting Nazir Sabir in Pakistan, three surfers - Thomas, Andy Wolff and Chris Sieber - are on an epic journey through Southern India. This journey is both physical and spiritual, preparing for a world record attempt in high altitude windsurfing in the Himalayas.
