Synopsis:
Petra and Brand are filmmakers who are partners in love and at work. They tell us an intimate story about their families who had similar destinies in the World War II period. In a quest to find their roots, they go on a trip which reveals personal stories and beliefs of Petra's grandfather (Slovenia), Brand's mother (Macedonia), and his grandmother (Cuba). The film is full of emotional and comical elements introducing love, the values and beliefs in three different ideologies via politics. A constant battle of survival, which unites with a new generation - the generation made by the filmmakers and their children. The film starts with Brand and Petra and their idea to create genetic material and ends with their daughter Terra and a quote by Cuban poet that children were born to be happy.
