Talavera Baby is the new documentary project by Patricia Maresch together with Brazilian director Gustavo Gelmini. The documentary will show the life of young mothers and their newborn babies in a special section of a women 19s prison in Rio de Janeiro. The mothers are allowed to keep their newborns with them for six months. After that, the baby is either sent to family or given up for adoption.
Patricia and Gustavo want to make a documentary that in no way judges the situation at the special Mother-Child Unit. 18We want the mothers to speak for themselves and we will listen to their stories. What we hope to achieve with this story is that moment right after viewing the documentary, that collective moment in which we see ourselves and our relationships with others somewhat clearer. Where we see life 13 in all its vulnerability 13 and truly appreciate it 19, say Patricia and Gustavo.

We are always looking to work with people who share our vision, who believe and trust that I shall make the film that I have promised to make- that it will screen in theatres and/or television in order to reach the biggest as well as most appreciative audience.

1. The God Squad - A Spiritual Journey into Africa- this film has already been shot and we are doing post right now. It should be finished by end of 2010. This film is about missionaries to Africa whose lives have been dramatically changed by the Africans they went to help.
2. East Bloc Rock - this film will look at the history of rock and roll in Communist Europe and how the music was a rallying cry for freedom. We have shot some material but need much, much more in order to complete the film.
