Synopsis:
Samadhi is a state of suspended animation, in other words, a virtual death where all bodily functions are suspended. It is a widely known practice among yogis in the Himalayas. This state has been repeatedly demonstrated by Pilot Baba, a Hindu mystic. Born Kapil Adwait in the eastern state of Bihar, India he was a pilot in the Indian Air Force serving in the capacity of a Wing Commander and he fought the 1965 and 1971 wars against Pakistan. However the path of his life made him renounce the secular world at the age of 35 to become a yogi. After 7 years of studying with various teachers, Pilot Baba attained self-realization and hence the capacity to maintain the state of Samadhi. He has taken many underground Samadhis, where he will remain buried in a space of 9x9x9 feet, such as in Agra for 7 days, in Devidhura for 15 days and in an ice cave in the Himalayas for 33 days. He also undertook Samadhi under water twice, in this instance, the body does not float but is like a stone in water. Pilot Baba has also taken Samadhi in an airtight glass at Mavlankar Hall in New Delhi and at several other places. Pilot Baba says that while in airtight glass Samadhi, one becomes pure energy. In this completed episode he undertakes Samadhi in an airtight glass in the town of Dewas in Madhya Pradesh for 96 hours.
