Beyond the Words: Soul Biographies : Director: Nic Askew |
Genre: Documentary | Produced In: 2009
Synopsis: Shooting people - with a camera that is - in a foreign language that you don’t understand encourages an ability to listen beyond the words. After meeting Feliciano Pop, I found that I didn’t actually need to know what he was saying. There was something else. Something far more powerful. My hope is that you too can see it. Even though, ironically, it seems that what we are really looking for is invisible to the eye. (Part of a series of twelve short films that capture the experience of being human, and in doing so offers the viewer the opportunity to be moved to tears and laughter, and to move into a deeper experience of themselves.)
