Synopsis: The year is 1852. Determined to find California gold, Lily Quinn, her husband Raegan, and their child Kelly have staked their family tent on the outskirts of Eldoradoville - a tough tent town full of rugged miners, immigrants, and prostitutes. This is a land forged by hope, faith, and a belief in the American Dream - and gold. Lily’s faith is tested a first time when their child Kelly is shot dead. Determined to be an instrument of God’s plan, Raegan goes to town seeking revenge, he tells Lily, “An eye for eye”. Lily’s faith is tested a second time when she is visited by the makeshift miner turned preacher - child-killer Caleb Montgomery. By a strange twist of fate Raegan finds revenge in town with Caleb’s girl - prostitute Velvet Simons. This ends with Caleb in hot pursuit of Raegan as they ride back toward the Quinn homestead. Lily’s faith is tested a third and final time when Caleb shoots Raegan dead. Lily is pushed to make a choice between her faith and reality. Lily abandons her faith and shoots Caleb dead. She mourns for husband and child. Lily rides the family horse to points unknown - forever changed. "The Prospector" is a story that challenges viewers to deconstruct the myths and historical truths of the "western" film, and the battle between faith and reality.
