Synopsis:
Section 377 of the Indian penal code - which was recently struck down - was a tool that enabled the police in India to harass homosexuals across India. "Proud, Gay and Indian" is a short program that examines how homosexuals, or India’s queer population as they are known, are harassed. We traveled across India and met gay men and women who talked about their lives, how Section 377 denied them their right to be themselves, and how most importantly, they are proud, gay and Indian.
