Open Secrets : Director: Azeem Khan | Genre: Drama | Produced In: 2008
Synopsis: Sunil is a patient in a psychiatric hospital, but his middle class Asian family, the Devs, are so ashamed of this that they keep it a secret from the rest of the family. Uncle Ravi arrives from India on a business trip, and he is concerned at the disappearance of the Dev's only son. Finally, Sunil is brought back home from the mental hospital to make a brief appearance at dinner with Uncle Ravi, just for appearances. He is forewarned about what to do and say, so as to appear "normal". Mayhem ensues when Sunil does and says the exact opposite of what was planned. But instead of being embarrassed, when the 'open secret' of Sunil's mental illness is revealed, Uncle Ravi shows himself to be wise and loving, and the Devs learn that they should accept Sunil as he is, rather than try to force him into something he is not.
