My name is Elisabet Gustafsson and I'm a Swedish film director. The Great Magiciam was shot in Tallinn, Estonina spring 2006 and is a Swedsih-French-Estonian co-production. The film is based on a short novel by the French writer René Daumal in the 1930s

Once upon a time, there was a great magician, who was living in the guise of an anonymous clerk at the Mystical Bank. Though he is surrounded by malicious people, he refrains himself from using his supernatural powers. An absurd and tragic-comic tale based on a short story by R. Daumal.
