Welcome!
So why call it "Uganda23"? Where does the 23 come from?
When we first set out to make a film about the water crisis/relief efforts of the Ugandan Water Project, we thought about making it a feature length film. But as we began discussing it, we realized that for most people, watching a feature length documentary is not something the greater public does. And our goal was to reach just that, the greater public.
So we decided it had to be between 20-30 minutes. It was at this point we stumbled upon the idea of naming the film "Uganda" followed by a number. We didn't like the sound of the even numbers (we're weird like that), and 21 was the drinking age in America and we didn't want our film associated with drinking. 27 was practically 30 and 25 was . . . well . . . we just didn't like it. So that left us with 23 - which seemed perfect in length and everyone really liked the ring "Uganda23" had to it.
So the "23" stands for the length of the film. Although 22:49 in actual length, it is close enough to 23 for us . . . and hopefully for you too!
