In 2002, life brought together Hector and Ivan, as pupil and teacher, in a storytelling workshop. Hector, who had joined the FARC when he was just a child and who had been captured by the army, was a beginner in the art of storytelling and tried to tell his own story. In 2008, six years later, pupil and teacher have met again. Hector is now a 24-year-old young man who has chosen to leave the guerrillas and is drafted into a very different fight. Context and Film-maker's Note: In 2003, we made a first documentary, "The Story of Hector", broadcasted by Television of Spain, TVE, and projected in several festivals, cultural and educational centers of Colombia and Spain. Six years later, here is the second: "Hector Is Back". Hector, a child of the Colombian war, joined the FARC at the age of 10. Today is 24 years old, he’s abandoned the guerrilla recently and is trying to find his own place in the civil life by studying and working. These two movies come from an audio-visual project promoted by Banda Visual, a non-profit organization, that approaches the war in Colombia through local peace initiatives, in this case, by the relationship between Hector and his teacher Ivan.
