Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical & Astrological Institute of H.H. the Dalai Lama) is a cultural, charitable and an educational institution, registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 (No. 1290/79). It was re-established in 1961, with the primary objective to preserve, promote and propagate the ancient cultural heritage of Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Astro. Science, and its service to the best needs of the sentient beings. It is the premier institute of Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Astro-Science.
The Tibetan system of medicine is one of the greatest legacies of Tibetan Buddhist Civilization. Today, traditional Tibetan Medicine has been acknowledged and accepted widely as one of the most highly developed medical system based on holistic principles and treats both physical and mental aspects.
