Synopsis:
Thanal Thedunna Bhoomi (Earth Seeking Shade) is a socio-political and environmental film that uncovers the sad plight of Adivasis (indigenous people) in Kerala, India. It is based on the real-life incident of a young tribal woman who lost her newborn baby. There are hundreds of such cases in a year, but only two or three make the news. Poverty and malnutrition are the basic cause of such incidents. They were thrown out of the serenity of the forest into some settlement in the name of development. They lost their land and are refugees in their own place. Many tribal groups are vanishing day by day and nobody cares about it. Through this film, we are trying to open the eyes of those who think that tribal folks are not human and they don’t need a Home or Hope. Moreover, this film highlights the value of agriculture, love for Nature and the land mafia that is swallowing the earth whole.
