Yet the real human experience of living with cancer is still vastly unknown, so when my father (Russ Davey) told me those three chilling words, “I have cancer,†I was totally numb—not because I was scared, but because I had absolutely no idea of what “cancer†meant. In that moment my life, the lives of my family, and the lives of the entire community around us, changed.
