Synopsis:
An Asian-American man journeys to discover the spirit and heritage of his deceased mother, uncovering the wonders of a tribal culture in Taiwan. Among his many discoveries are the last surviving elders of his tribe, the Atayal. These 100-year-old women carry the ancient facial tattoos of their now endangered culture. He offers a plea for the preservation of the ancient language and cultural traditions of these indigenous tribes ... “You can’t imagine how much knowledge will disappear if 10,000 languages are gone.”
