Juraj Julije Klovic Croata (1498-1578) was the greatest painter of miniatures of his time, whom his contemporaries called "Michelangelo of Miniatures." He enriched many manuscripts, both spiritual and secular, with his works. Among such works were the codex "Beatissimae Mariae Virginis Officium" and the breviary "Officium Virginis," which are universally regarded as masterpieces of the world of art.
