Synopsis:
Shot entirely on location in the Hebei Province in China, "The Donkey" tells a story about a poor Chinese farmer who treasures his donkey more than anything in the world. After finding out about his wife’s pregnancy one day, he is forced to take action to improve his financial status. Worried over his ability to raise the expected newborn, he travels to the city to ask his friend for a loan with his donkey. Once there, he discovers that his quest may have consequences beyond the financial ramifications. "The Donkey" is a realism film, made with non-actors, and shot entirely on a single 50mm lens.
