Synopsis:
A boy sees his father take a beating from a local thug on the way home from a Little League game. When they arrive home, the father demands the boy say nothing to his mother about the father's swelling black eye, but the two are caught whispering at the door before they are able to corroborate their stories. The mother presses them for information, and they coincidentally tell the same lie. Afterward, however, the father reprimands the boy for having said anything at all. Angry at the betrayal, the boy vengefully tells his mother the truth, only to be betrayed by her in the name of his father's pride. The boy's resulting rage culminates in the ultimate betrayal of the only friend he knows.
