Synopsis:
Pimp My Carroça consists in a day of public intervention at a symbolic spot in the city, where volunteers offer structural and aesthetic services to the catadores (recyclable material collectors) and their carts: body shop, tire repair, installation of safety kits, art by renowned graffiti artists, as well as various social services (medical assistance, masseurs, hairdressers, psychologists) for the collectors. The goal is to improve working and living conditions for these environmental agents, who are currently marginalized despite their important contribution to the social and environmental health of our cities.
