Synopsis:
The theme of this film is death. The use of very contrasting black and white initially recalls the cartoon but is then dominated by the vital elements: white being the light and therefore life; black representing darkness and therefore death. Leone is a very normal taxi driver, aware (possibly) of being a modern-day Caronte – a ferrymaster of souls. In the film, we have symbolically wanted to pay homage to the theme of the death of the real cinema that unfortunately – at least here in Italy – is losing its stand.
