Synopsis:
"River of Hope" is an educational film to show how children and families cope in a positive way with the heavy impact of HIV/AIDS in Uganda and Kenya. The devastation that HIV/AIDS has caused during the last decades is tremendous. Many toddlers are found on the streets of Kampala in Uganda. Most of them are abandoned because their parents had HIV/AIDS and could not bring up their children. Despite the misery, it is possible to cope with HIV/AIDS in a positive way. A way that increases quality of life. A way that strengthens children's resilience. A way that gives tools to paddle through the river of life. This film follows six children who do exactly that, paddling on the "River of Hope".
