Synopsis:
The film portrays a young Cuban boxer, Yoan Pablo Hernandez. Since 2005, when he pulled out of the Cuban national team at the Chemiepokal event in Halle, the up-and-coming boxing talent has lived in Germany. In the meantime he has been contracted to the famous Berlin boxing club Sauerland, meaning he can provide financial support to his family in far off Cuba. As a political refugee, however, Yoan Pablo doesn't have the possibility to return home. He's not just fighting for a better future for himself and his family, but also against homesickness and isolation of being abroad.
