Synopsis:
Is God Himself uncertain of what is going to happen next? Diversity, complexity and the problem of good and evil. Even simple systems can very soon become so complex that they get unpredictable and unfathomable. How does this affect the idea of an all-powerful creator? Is the chaos of the natural world a problem for theologians or an opportunity for creativity? How does it help us the understand how we live? This is a question that is as old as the biblical book of Job and yet as current as the science of evolution. With creation theologian Thomas Berry, scientist and eccentric Miriam Rothschild, controversial Franciscan friar Matthew Fox, Nobel laureate Ilya Prigogine, mathematician and novelist Arnold Mandell, botanist and vicar John Rodwell, and primatologist Adrienne Zihlman.
