"Garbage" portrays the impoverished life of men living in public landfills, who subsist on the sale of the recyclable material they collect. They make 10 Turkish lira (about US$5) a day, and they must give half of that meager salary to the landfill owner. Public institutions and the authorities remain indifferent in the face of this inhumane situation.

"Garbage" traite de la vie misérable des hommes qui vivent dans les décharges publiques. Ils ramassent des déchets recyclables pour les revendre. Ils gagnent 10 livres turques par jour et doivent donner la moitié de leur salaire de misère au propriétaire de la décharge. Les institutions publiques et les autorités restent indifférentes face à cette situation inhumaine.
