Synopsis:
Rivers meander through the lives of everyone. They are tarnished gems in our natural landscapes. They are at the heart of human development. "Troubled Waters" explores what rivers want to do and what humans want to do with them. It calls attention to the needs of rivers and the cumulative effect humans have and on these waters. The film highlights several Iowans who share their personal relationships with their local river or stream. The film serves to launch dialogue about the issues that affect our waters, asks the viewer to appreciate rivers, to acknowledge their importance and their power and hopefully will inspire them to make some changes in their lives.
