Synopsis:
This is a documentary film about two asylum seekers living in Glasgow. Rashida is a single mother with four children from Pakistan, and Hamlaui is an Algerian single man who has been living in Glasgow for years. After years, both Rashida and Hamlaui have not received any final decision from the Home Office, and were still in the process of their asylum cases. This has disrupted their lives and created instability since they first arrived in the U.K. Rashida is a strong character who is pushing to ensure a safe life for her children, without living in fear, and Ham has not seen his children for ten years. This film tells the powerful story of two asylum seekers living in Glasgow, how the two characters are facing these difficulties in their daily lives, and how they deal with their immigration asylum cases. This film was made by Palestinian Fatima Helou who studied Film and Media Studies at the University of Stirling.
