Director: Lisa Hoffe | Producer: Lisa Hoffe

Synopsis:
Trailblazing documents the pioneering spirit and determination of the fledgling group of a few women working as trekking guides in the male-dominated adventure tourism industry in Nepal. The film tells an uplifting and empowering tale of the women's struggle to break new ground and blaze new trails in this conservative mountain culture.
The story centers around three sisters, Lucky, Dickumari (Dicky) and Nicky Chhetri who, starting with humble beginnings, a strong intention and an adventurous spirit, built a trekking agency and training programmes for women. 3 Sisters Adventure is the first and only female-owned agency in Nepal. They saw a niche when women tourists repeatedly asked why there were no female guides available to take them trekking. The Sisters rose to the challenge and trained themselves to be guides. Finding the demand for their services quite high, they then began to train other Nepali women. Their efforts have helped build capacity for women in the industry, increased options for women as well as means to financial independence.
