Focus Years: 2011 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
"Stitched" follows three controversial and competitive quilters as they race to complete their artwork for the largest U.S. quilt show. Caryl Bryer Fallert was the first to use a sewing machine to win a "Best of Show" prize when usually handmade pieces were valued. Former Peace Corps volunteer Hollis Chatelain paints quilts of social issues; many consider painting to be cheating. And quilter Randall Cook creates quilts of male nudes, shocking many conservative quilters. "Stitched" is a funny, inspirational look at the quilting subculture.
